“This book was so much fun. It’s whimsical mayhem, and I enjoyed every bit of it. It’s a perfect choice for a fall read. ”

“The Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping is the perfect cozy, witchy, and quirky read to curl up with during spooky season. I really enjoyed reading about how these wholly original misfit characters came together to form their own found family, and I appreciated that the slow-burn romance complemented the story rather than taking center stage. The narration by Samara MacLaren was excellent!”

“Sangu delivers a beautifully crafted story that blends magic with everyday life in the most delightful way. The inn setting creates a cozy atmosphere that perfectly complements the fast-paced plot, making you feel right at home within the pages. The characters are genuinely loveable, and the story thoughtfully celebrates different cultures, lifestyles, and chosen family dynamics. A heartwarming read that brings just the right amount of magic to your day.”

“This witchy tale was a mix of a search for one’s true self, a found family drama, and a slow burn romance. Sera has almost given up hope that she’ll ever recover the magic she lost to save someone she loves, and in turn thinks she will never really find herself again. When Luke stumbles upon her inn, she begins to see what she wants in life a little differently. I loved this story- it felt part Practical Magic, part Encanto, and part Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. The characters were easy to love, or hate, and had enough complexity to make them feel real. I loved every inch of the magical inn, but didn’t find the fantasy elements too deep or too hard to understand. There’s a good helping of slow burn, totally fade to black, romance that felt genuine and fit the plot well. Really glad I picked this one up! ”

“If you’re not feeling the first chapter, keep going! The majority of the book is from 30-year-old Serah’s POV, and the vibe is distinctly different from her teen self. I cried a few times in this book from the beautiful elements of chosen family and queer love. ”

“You know that meme, the reader wrapped up in blankets upon blankets with a warm mug and a cuddly buddy? That's this book. Very, very cozy. But the cuddly buddy is an undead rooster (it's fine, all cozy). ”

AN INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER! • A whimsical and heartwarming novel about a witch who has a second chance to get her magical powers—and her life—back on track, from the national bestselling author of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches.Sera Swan used to be one of the most powerful witches in Britain. Then she resurrected her great-aunt Jasmine from the (very recently) dead, lost most of her magic, befriended a semi-villainous talking fox, and was exiled from her Guild. Now she (slightly reluctantly and just a bit grumpily) helps Jasmine run an enchanted inn in Lancashire, where she deals with her quirky guests' shenanigans, tries to keep said talking fox in check, and longs for the future that seems lost to her. But then she finds out about an old spell that could hold the key to restoring her power…Enter Luke Larsen, handsome and icy magical historian, who arrives on a dark winter evening and just might know how to unlock the spell’s secrets. Luke has absolutely no interest in getting involved in the madcap goings-on of the inn and is definitely not about to let a certain bewitching innkeeper past his walls, so no one is more surprised than he is when he agrees to help Sera with her spell. Worse, he might actually be thawing.Running an inn, reclaiming lost magic, and staying one step ahead of the watchful Guild is a lot for anyone, but Sera Swan is about to discover that she doesn’t have to do it alone...and that the weird, wonderful family she’s made might be the best magic of all.
Sangu Mandanna is the author of The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, Kiki Kallira Breaks a Kingdom, and several other novels about magic, monsters, and myths. She lives in Norwich, a city in the east of England, with her husband and three kids.
