“I just recently went through a deep dive reread of ALL The Hunger Games books (yes, in 2024!) and WOW do they still hold up! Do I remember loving them? Absolutely yes. Do I remember feeling inspired to overthrow the government? Also yes. But what I forgot, or maybe didn't fully understand at the time I first read them, was how delicately and accurately these books represent oppression, effects of capitalism, wealth disparity, what rebellion can look like and how it is born. If you read The Hunger Games when you were younger, this is your sign to reread them! It will be worth it! This was my first experience listening them via audiobooks and I absolutely loved the narrator, she encapsulates Katniss and her emotions oh so well. ”
