“Sara Raasch has a talent for writing some of my absolute favorite books that make me laugh out loud, gasp, scream, cry, form a strong attachment to fictional characters, and just bring me immense joy. This book had me laughing from the first chapter. Sebastian's humor and rivalry with Thio got me hooked easily into the story, but it wasn't until we dived deeper into the characters' back story and emotions that I knew I was going to absolutely adore this book. This rivals to lovers was honestly perfectly executed. With a genuinely good reason for the characters not to like or trust each other, a messy prank war, lots of banter and verbal sparring, Sebastian and Thio's chemistry was intense from the beginning. Finding out they had to work together and the forced proximity that came with that was just the cherry on top. The spice was truly exquisite, and seeing them slowly trust each other had me giggling and kicking my feet. The world Sara Raasch created was inspired by DND, which made this book so fun and unique, and it reminded me a lot of the Pixar movie Onward in the best way possible. I honestly can't wait to continue this series and revisit these characters and this world.”
