“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this book. I went in knowing nothing about the plot and was delighted at every turn. Using different narrators for each character added a rich, immersive layer to the experience. V.E. Schwab’s storytelling is both haunting and beautiful—this is a story that lingers long after the final page.”

“I have long been a fan of V.E. Schwab, but one of the things I enjoyed most about this book was the different accents! I find that when there are multiple storylines, it’s easier to keep track when the characters sound at least a little bit different. ”

“V. E. Schwab is undoubtedly one of my top 5 favorite authors. The way she is able to so effortlessly dive into the storied and murky waters of gothic fantasy, only to emerge with some brilliant and contemporary is so enviable I can’t help but be salty about it. This new novel is another knockout. Certainly the spiritual successor to Addie LaRue, and hitting many of the same philosophical questions while taking a totally different path toward answers. I love a Faustian bargain more than almost any other literary device, and Schwab uses them to devastating affect. In Bury Our Bones I specifically appreciated how all of her POV characters (because I can’t justify calling them all protagonists) seem to have different emotional freeze points, that correlate with their immortal turning points. The audio performance of this book is impeccable as any I’ve heard, and I will certainly be following the performers to other work!”

“I absolutely loved this. Books that make you question how people become the villain are so interesting. 5 stars! ”

“This was my second Schwab book and I don't think she is for me. HOWEVER, that's not to say that I don't completely appreciate her writing, characters, and plot. This book is incredibly written and you can tell that every word was so intentionally penned. While I prefer a bit more action-packed fantasy, I can't deny that this book fills a much needed niche of angsty, toxic, lesbian, vampire fic.”

“Equal parts mystery, romance, and thriller with just the right dash of horror. The pacing of the narrative leaves the listener hungry for more, just as an insatiable thirst for life drives the story's protagonists. The choice to use multiple narrators enriches the listening experience, highlighting the individual circumstances of each of the characters' lives across time and space. A memorable saga for anyone who has ever questioned what life is truly about.”

“A rich and dark winding through the lives of three vampires, each drawn to the promise of freedom and bound by the desire to live. A visceral tale that is equally toxic as it is passionate. ”

“Such a beautiful and haunting story. The parallels between the characters and the people around them are so well thought out. Love, Power, and Hunger truly are the essence of the book and a distillation of each emotion. V.E. Schwab is truly a poet, I haven't a read a book I loved as much as this one in a while.”

“I didn't think I liked gothic stories but this book proved me wrong! Dark and angsty, with toxic sapphic vampires, multiple POVs, and the violence is written in a voice that feels close enough to be engrossing but far enough removed to not make me queasy (I mean, they are vampires, so there's lots of murder and slaughter). Highly recommend this book and the audio version is wonderful!”

“What an amazing audiobook! All three narrators were amazing and really made me feel connected to the characters. I loved the Anne Rice style vampires and the atmospheric setting of the book. It was a great listen and I can’t recommend this book enough.”
